Resolutions

I was sitting around with my new little baby who was less than a week old and my girls were coloring in the other room and I was actually, kind of, taking some time off from my entrepreneurial life. And the resolution that I settled on was to actually spend time doing fun things with my girls. I am not the sort of person to play so much with my kids, my husband is good for that. I coordinate, take care of, shop for, do the things moms do. But I realized one of the reasons I wanted to be a mom was to do crafts, watch funny movies, be silly, go to the park. And instead of going to the park out of pure enjoyment, it became another list on the playdate schedule, rather than the running around screaming, frenetic joy of being together.

So tonight ended with me acting like I was going to gobble up my girls. We squealed until our sides hurt and I kept hearing "Do it again mommy". Today Mercy and I built a huge train track together, in the middle of an incredibly busy day. She was content and I realized my head was a little clearer.

So that was my resolution, to do things with my girls. At least that was my foremost one, the others are to lose the baby weight, join a volleyball league, and play ultimate more with my husband. I can't even wait for summer.

Ezra Jeremy Dimos joins the world.

My son, Ezra Jeremy Dimos, joined the world on December 3rd full of spitfire and a greek/irish temper.  He literally push his way into this world, not willing to wait another second.  They almost couldn't find the midwife in time.  I am sure someone would have caught him.  It is interesting to compare my labor stories, and how the personality of the kids seem reflected in them.  Lucy, I had no idea what I was getting myself in to, but she was patient, kind of willing to tell me what she wanted and what I should do, typical oldest.  Mercy's birth was very peaceful, a fairly relaxed labor, and then she was just an easy baby.  Very rambuncious now, but honestly she just turned four.  I would hope she has lots of energy now.  But Z, whoa, nothing, nothing for a long time, and then within the space of about 15 min, I dialated from a 6-10 and had pushed him out.  And I have never experienced that kind of pain before.  I delivered both girls naturally, no meds, but for some reason this was beyond, way beyond.  And I was begging for an epidural.  Needless to say, there was no time for an epidural.  And all of the sudden there he was.  His personality seems fairly representative of his arrival into the world.  Full of passion and immediacy.  Quick temper, and very hungry.  I just got done reading the twilight series, he kind of reminds me of a vampire.  :)

Anyway, the following are my facebook pictures of E to the Z.  Enjoy

lucy's first sick day

you would think i would be a lot more concerned about lucy being sick.  but in some ways it is so nice to have her home a little bit.  she has been going to school all day five days a week and we just kind of miss her around her.  especially her little kitty called mercy.  mercy pretends she is a kitty a lot of the time.  along with her other five personalities.  princess herla, kitty, tiger, kangaroo, baby jaguar.  not to mention an overwhelming mercy keet.  so mercy and i miss her and love it when we get a little lucy time.

we have been preparing lately for the arrival of our little boy, another 8-10 weeks.  we think we are going to name him ezra jeremy dimos.  nothing for sure until he comes on out.  we have been shipping out girls clothes for things mercy has grown out of, and have been utterly blessed by two women in particular who have literally supplied us with all of the boys clothes and stuff we will need for at least the next year.  we ended up leaving a lot of our baby stuff in minnesota b/c we didn't have room to move it out, so it is kind of starting over.  Especially with a boy instead of a girl.  today is an organizing day.
